Ethical Dilemmas Student’s Name Institutional Affiliation Morals and ethics are related topics which can easily be mistaken each for the other. Ethics are a set of standards a person comes up with to ensure they make the best choices between a group of options. Morals are rules which guide a person when choosing a particular type of behavior between classes which are already classified by the society as wrong or right. Ethical dilemmas pose very conflicted questions in a person s mind when making decisions. There are differences in decisions, also called ethical judgments and are made by people when having moral dilemmas. These differences can be explained by divergent moral philosophies between different people. This†¦show more content†¦Moreover, it judges an action by its consequences and not the extents to which it benefits anyone. Additionally, if an action is not okay, but its final effects turn out to be constructive, utilitarianism renders it ethical. Ethical dilemmas are extremely complicated in business because business ventures are profit-making endeavors. This means profit making is the central guiding principle in business, not morality. Proper business mind designs products which will bring about the most benefit. Companies will also offer goods and services which encourage immorality such as the brewing of alcoholic beverages. Business concepts also encourage making profits at the expense of others as in the case of the stock market where stock owners dump unprofitable stocks. People involved could apply utilitarianism and Kantianism to solve some of the ethical dilemmas they have in their minds. Decent shelter is a basic human right. People have been known to take mortgage plans often without a constant source of income. Banks are at times forced to sell off the homes of the customers who are unable to make payment, even though it is morally wrong to take away the home of a person.
